Job Description
The President for the Asian Chamber of Commerce (ACC) will be responsible for the overall administration and management of ACC, including service programs, fund-raising, and business operations, to achieve the chamber's vision, mission, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives.


Job Responsibilities
 
  1. Strategy Development
In collaboration with the Board of Directors, establish strategies that will position the Asian Chamber of Commerce to consistently meet its mission and vision. Identify and cultivate relationships with business, government and non-profit organizations that support the Chamber’s mission.
 
  1. Management and Administration
a. Under direction of the board of directors, develop annual goals and objectives consistent with the vision and mission of the chamber.
b. Develop and administer operational policies.
c. Oversee all programs, services and activities to ensure that program objectives are met.
d. Oversee business development.
e. Ensure that the chamber complies with all legal and contractual obligations. 
f. Provide information for evaluation of the organization’s activities.
  1. Financial
a. Recommends annual budget for Board approval and prudently manages organization's resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations.
a. Oversees fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resources required, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting grant applications and funding proposals and administrating fundraising records and documentation.
g. Ensure compliance with funding sources and regulatory requirements.
b. Provide for proper fiscal record keeping and reporting.
  1. Personnel
a. Administer board-approved personnel or employment policies.
b. Ensure proper (legal) hiring and termination procedures.
c. Oversee any and all disciplinary actions.
d. Provide for adequate supervision and evaluation of all staff and volunteers.
  1. Board Relations
a. Work in close collaboration with and at the discretion and direction of the Board of Directors, the Board chair, Executive Committee, and other Committees.
b. Report regularly to the Board to keep them informed to ensure that the Board has all necessary information to meet its governance responsibilities.
c. Assist the board chair in planning the agenda and materials for board meetings.
d. Assist the board chair in facilitating the orientation of new board members.
  1. Community and Public Relations
a. Assures the chamber and its vision, mission, strategy, programs and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.
b. Ensure appropriate representation of ACC by all employees.
7.   Committees
a.  Work in collaboration and under the direction of committee chairs on chamber directives by attendance to meetings and/or by providing valuable input and information.
b.  Help execute action plans laid out by committee chairs when needed.
